Spring 2010: THAKOON

Thakoon Panichgul may be the impressionist of fashion design, as black is incredibly rare in his color palette. Sure there maybe some black “staples” such as black pants or a basic black top, but colorful prints and textiles dominate his collections season after season. This year, like impressionist painters, there was a clear element of Japonisme and nature. Pair one of his brightly colored dresses with a leather jacket and some strappy sandals and you’re set for anything from a walk through central park or dinner at Pastis.
