Spring 2010: RICK OWENS

October 2, 2009

Rick Owens kept to his monochromatic colors this season, but the collection did not feel dark and gloomy like it has in the past. His clothes were edgy and aerodynamic but the fabric had a lightness to it that kept the collection from feeling overly heavy. There was a lot of diversity in Owens’ designs this season. Short Judy Jetson dresses were contrasted against long, graceful silhouettes. While there was not a lot of ornamentation on the clothes, aside from some feather detailings, the collection was incredibly structured and architectural which is always nice to see. Owens really knows how to work with and manipulate the fabric and thus continues to create beautiful collections season after season.
