And so it begins…

February 10, 2010

New York Fashion Week is basically here (technically it starts in a little over 24 hours, ah!), and thus the city is a flurry of fashionistas, editors, agents, models, etc. making sure they’re as prepped as can be. For me that means a couple of things:

Making sure my apartment is as clean as can be – Although I won’t be spending a lot of time in my apartment in the upcoming week, I’ve always found it crucial to atleast start off with an exceptionally clean living space. When I am home, I’ll undoubtedly be throwing my clothes into a pile on the ground, grabbing a quick bite to eat, changing my shoes and running back out the door. The mess only accumulates into greater masses throughout the week so, best to start out spic and span right?

Reviewing past seasons - I always find it nice to look through past seasons of designers to not only familiarize myself, but to also see how they’ve changed from last season to this season.

Making a schedule – There’s so much going on during Fashion Week that without the color coated schedule in my moleskin I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. Yet, despite my vast efforts to stay on schedule, I always end up adding events in and taking other events out. C’est la vie!

Outfits, outfits and more outfits – I wish I could say that I plan my outfits days in advance, but I either never have the time or I just don’t feel inspired. I come up with much better outfits when the pressure’s on and I have only a few minutes until I need to be out the door. That being said, I do think about certain looks and items that I’ll want to wear at some point during the week. Below is a mix between a fashion week wish list and outfit ideas that I have begun to think about.

I will try and get someone to take photos of my outfits, but I’m not making any promises. ;)
