“There are only two types of women – goddesses and doormats” – Pablo Picasso

If you’re looking for a quick tip on how to look immediately like a goddess, throw on a maxi dress. Many people may say that they a) can’t pull off a maxi dress or b) the maxi dress makes them look short and stumpy, but let me be the first to say that they are wrong. It’s all about the cut and fit of the dress…and of course, trial and error. I used to think that maxi dresses only looked good on extremely tall women, but when I saw a friend of mine who is 5’1″ looking beautiful as ever wearing a gorgeous floor length, tie-dye tube dress, I knew that I was wrong.

I don’t own many maxi dresses, but that is something my closet and I are eager to change. They are easy to throw on in the morning, comfortable, and immediately exude a look of femininity and elegance. Put on a peasanty white maxi dress, brown gladiator sandals, some chunky gold jewelry and honey, you’ve got yourself an outfit.

I have been on the prowl for some more long body-skimming dresses for quite some time now, and let me tell you they are not easy to find! Revolve Clothing and ShopBop have a large selection of maxi dresses, but I thought I’d share some of my own personal favorites with you.
