Croquet
July 19, 2010

The house that my Mom rented along the Long Island Sound is in a small town called Old Black Point and while much of its lure is its quiet, gated community and crisp seashore air, there is one attraction that is exclusive to Old Black Point: the game of Croquet (pronounced Crō-key). While similar to the widely known game of Croquet (yes, they’re spelled the same way but pronounced differently), the Old Black Point version has a different lay-out and different rules.
I can’t say that I’m very good at this sport, but with a little practice perhaps I’ll eventually perfect by Croquet swing.
