Orange You Glad

February 6, 2012

I’ve taken my obsession with monochromatic dressing to the next level with outfits composed of pieces derived from a similar color palette. Dressing in related color tones that aren’t so matchy matchy is an easy way to look not so standard while still wearing pretty standard pieces. Here you see me all oranged up, resembling some kind of fall foliage or cherry tomato mixture,  but note this my friends: I’m still wearing my usual silky blouse + skinny jeans combo. Ain’t nothin fancy shmancy about that! This is what we call attainable fashion people, attainable fashion. Also note that dressing in a tomato-based color palette allows you to eat and spill as many tomato-based meals as you like without winding up looking like a Jackson Pollock. Major plus for those of you who are clumsy like me or use your outfits as a napkin.

That’s a fierce (read: awesome!) color-combo. Citrus hues are officially on my list of what to wear (and what to eat). xo
