Gingham and Daisies

There is nothing like the first moments of a new season. The change of leaves in the fall, the first crisp wind that has you grabbing an extra blanket in the winter, buds popping up at the start of spring, and the excessive sweat and pale legs on the first hot day of summer. This past weekend I went up to my family’s house in Connecticut to officially open it up for the season and it felt…perfect. I finished a book, watched Finn run up and down the lawn, snacked on fresh cherries, and got a minor tan.

In honor of the new season I doubled up on some festive gingham prints that I’ve since left on the shore for the weekends to come. And as for the daisies in my hand, well, expect to see lots of daisy chains on the blog in the next few weeks!
