The Unexpected

Sometimes you don’t realize you were missing something in your closet until it’s there. This is the case with this Paul & Joe coat I picked up at a press preview last week. An orangey red coat por moi? Never did I think I need one, but now I’m not so sure how I got on without it. It’s the perfect transition coat as it’s not too heavy, but loose enough to fit a chunky sweater underneath when it gets a bit more chilly. But I think what I love most about it is the pop of color it gives to any outfit. Take today for example: I’m wearing a pretty standard Monday outfit (jeans and a simple shirt), but once I throw on the coat it’s like BA-BAM! Hello outfit!

It’s times like these that I realize I should take more chances with my shopping, as sometimes it’s the most unexpected of pieces that end up being a classic staple.
