A Gatsby Soiree

I enjoy a good party as much as the next person, but a costume party? Now that’s something I can get into!

This year for my birthday my friend Suz (her birthday is 2 days before mine!) and I threw the ultimate Gatsby soiree at my house in Connecticut. With 22 people in full costume attendance we had everything from 1920s music to themed cocktails to extra long sparklers for when the sun went down.

I’m not usually one to leave a costume to the last minute (I start planning Halloween months in advance), but this year I didn’t know what I was wearing until I popped by a press preview last week. I fell head over heels in love with this Aryn K dress and knew it was just the thing I needed for my Gatsby party. My friend Lara made headbands for everyone, while I accessorized the hell out of myself and just about everyone else.

While birthdays can be pretty exhausting, I already can’t wait for next year’s as Suz and I planning a masquerade…
