A Week in Review

Meyer Lemons shipped all the way from my house in California

January may be one of the worst months ever. It’s filled with the promises and pressures of new beginnings; but if you think about it, it’s really just another month in life, and it’s within this mindset that I can actually approach the month’s crappiness with a level head. For example: yes, I did break my toe open on my shower two days ago, but this weekend I’m off to the Hamptons with some of my best friends and many a martini. It continues next week: yes, I have to do some work that I was hoping would be finished by today, but then I have my friend’s engagement party followed by a much-needed trip to San Francisco.

You see? It all levels out just like any other month be it February, June, or November. And so I leave you with this: if you’re starting do feel down about already not accomplishing that new year’s resolution to go to the gym or are totally freaked out because 2013 is starting to look pretty dismal, I say throw those evil thoughts in the trash and spit on them while you do. January is just another month in our lives and who gives a sh*t if it’s good or bad. Like I said, it’s just another month.
