The Hunt

May 3, 2012

Sometimes I think I should have called my blog “Everyday Fashion” because truth be told, I’m really about the stuff you can wear comfortably on a daily basis. Which brings me to the topic of this post: the everyday spring/summer heel. As you all are well aware, I wear my Acne pistol boots almost everyday. It’s a struggle for me not to wear them. But the humidity in NYC is rising, which means aurevoir boots and bonjour sandals. I’m currently on the hunt for the sandal equivalent to my Acne boots – comfortable, flattering, with just enough of a heel to give me a good view over the heads of people I’m crammed into subway cars with. I’ve had my eyes on these Celine beauties for over a year now, but haven’t been able to find them in my size; I even tried cramming my foot into a pair too small on  sale at Kirna Zabete not too long ago. As you can imagine, that didn’t work out, and thus my hunt for the perfect sandal continues.

What are you on the hunt for right now? Tell me!

WISH

April 24, 2012

I’m the farthest thing from an impulse buyer — if I’m not sure about it, I’m not going to buy it. This has resulted in me missing out on some amazing vintage finds, but I think if you’re going to spend money on something – especially something that’s expensive – you should be 100% sure you love it and you’ll wear it years from now.

I am constantly making wish lists (you can see some of the things I’m currently obsessing over here), but if I look at the list really closely, there are a few items that have remained on there for months if not years. I have lusted, drooled and cried tears (not literally, ok maybe literally) over Rick Owens’ signature leather jacket for at least five years. The Chloé studded Susan boots are my Podiatric porn. And I don’t think I need to explain myself when it comes to the Proenza Schouler PS11 bag.

Though I’m not in any place to make a big splurge (I just moved, afterall!) I can’t help but remind myself just how much I love the following four items that have surpassed the test of time on my wish list.

{ Rick Owens Leather Jacket }

{ Cartier Love Bracelet }

{ Proenza Schouler PS11 in Burgundy }

{ Chloe Susan Boots }

Perfect Summer White

April 10, 2012

{ Suno Dress }

Is this not the perfect white summer dress? I can already imagine pairing it with a pair of Superga sneakers, a straw fedora, and some grass stains.

One of my best friends just booked her ticket to come east for the Fourth of July and I’m thinking this may just be the dress to sop up the holiday’s inevitable BBQ stains.

What do you think?

Samudra

April 4, 2012

I have sat on a toadstool for far too long thinking about whether or not I should buy a Samudra clutch. Why? I have no idea. I just never jumped on it. But I finally bit the bullet (a small bullet at that, these babies are $60 each. Not bad if I do say so myself.) and am now back on my toadstool waiting for it to arrive, hopefully in time for my upcoming trip to Miami.

Aren’t they just the perfect  pop of color/graphic for a warm summer night? Long white dress, wavy beach hair, sunburn golden tan, Kenny G playing in the background…kidding.

Can you guess which one I bought?

The Shoes That Got Away

February 22, 2012

I curse the far too many times I didn’t bite the bullet and buy these Alexander Wang booties. Now they’re unavailable and I spend every waking hour mourning their absence from my closet.

Drama Queens aside, if anyone has these or knows of a place where I can find them in a size 39 I will be eternally in your debt. Ok, maybe not eternal but I will love you long time.
