Furry Accents

December 6, 2011

I think I’ve always had an affinity for furry accents. As a little girl I rarely left the house without a stuffed animal in hand and today I can’t seem to get enough of furry bags, shoes, scarves, vests, etc. Faux or real – I don’t reaaaaallly care (don’t shoot me) – I just love a little somethin’ fluffy that I can pet from time to time throughout a day’s work.

Here are some furry accents that I most certainly wouldn’t mind adding to my wardrobe…especially in these upcoming winter months.

Another hidden gem in my Lower East Side oasis is the adorably decorated boutique, Suite Orchard. Although its walls are cute and girly with their pink, white and grey stripes, the merchandise is far from dainty. Filled with some of the most covetable designers like Alexander Wang, Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Lover (one of my personal favorites!), and Twenty Seven Names, this little corner shop stocks its racks with modern, experimental pieces for the fashionably daring and curious. While colorful clothing is kept to a minimum, the neutral palettes of blacks, whites and greys make for an interesting assortment of statement pieces that are simultaneously versatile and everyday appropriate.

Spring 2010: ALEXANDER WANG

September 14, 2009

Alexander Wang is an artist/designer that will continue to surprise me with his innovative designs and will never cease to amaze me. His designs were a youthful collection was football meets school girl, aka the epitome of masculine meets feminine. Wang really took his looks from head to toe with the loose pollyanna braids to the 5th avenue strut worthy leopard heels.

Fashion’s Night Out: Barneys NYC

September 11, 2009

Last night, as many of you already know, was Fashion’s Night Out. I went to the Modelinia event for Coco Rocha which was being held on the 7th floor of Barney’s. While I didn’t make it in time to watch Alexander Wang, Natasha Poly, Magdalena Frackowiak and Hanna Gaby Odiele rock out and make a flip book, I’m lucky enough to have some fantastic fashionista friends that kept me up to date on what was going on.

copycat nono

Silence & Noise (a brand best known for being sold at Urban Outfitters) came out with their own version of Alexander Wang’s denim and black jacket and it is disgusting. I understand that people don’t want to spend $600 on a primarily denim jacket, but this knock off is just appalling. I really hope that no one buys this.
