Peanut Butter & Jelly

Certain colors go together like peanut butter and jelly; no matter the brand or bread, pb & j will always taste good (I actually have a friend who just made pb & j using a tortilla) much like the fiery fall colors of orange, red, and yellow.
Yesterday, on a stroll through Central Park, I couldn’t help but notice my color coordination with the autumnal trees around me. I’m not normally that colorful of a dresser, but wearing such eye-catching and seasonal tones while everyone else around me was wearing black Lululemon while pushing their strollers around (the quintessential Sunday morning in Central Park) was a definite morning coffee perk for me.
And before you go thinking that the trees and I called each other the night before to plan matchy matchy outfits, think again. We didn’t talk; hell, I don’t even know these guys, though they were more than willing to let me swing on their branches.

.:. Fall ▲ List .:.

Today marks the first official day of Fall, my favorite time of year. Most people find themselves to be the most productive in the Spring and Summer months (spring cleaning, summer fitness routines, etc) but I’m my most productive self in the Fall and Winter. Something about the temperatures, spending more time at home, and all the holidays gets me in the mood to inspire, create, and accomplish! Here is a list of things I hope to accomplish this Fall:
- Go pumpkin picking
- Learn how to needle point (and ultimately make one of these)
- Spend a day in Central Park collecting leaves
- Knit a pair of fingerless gloves
- Take a pasta making class
- Eat the pasta that I hope to make and then go to the gym….

Autumn in Spring
I know that spring clothing is supposed to be full of florals and bright colors, but when I sat down to make my first list of spring must-haves I couldn’t help but pick out items made up of deeper, richer colors. What can I say, they’re my favorites! And just like the “no white after labor day” rule went out the window, I say to hell with pastels for spring, bring on those rich, autumnal colors! Thankfully, it seems I’m not alone in this style testament, as many of my favorite stores and brands are currently featuring pieces in those colors that I just can’t bring myself to resist, no matter what the season. Here’s round one of what I’m currently coveting for spring:

- Anarchy Street Crop Knit Sweater – $48
- Topshop Pleated Calf Length Skirt – $80
- Asos Leather Boyfriend Belt – $35.86
- JCrew Broken-in Boyfriend Short – $49.50
- Reed Krakoff Multi Strap Sandle – $650
- Madewell Poet Skirt – $98
- Erin Considine Polemos II Necklace – $282
- Forever 21 Sunglasses – $5.80
- Kate Spade Essex Small Scout – $295
- Topshop Off White Pleat Dress – $95
- Reiss Double Breasted Blazer – $345
- Jeffrey Campbell Southern Exposure Sandal – $107
Cozy Corners

After a weekend of back-to-back parties and costuming, I could not be happier to be curled up on my couch in comfy sweatpants, non-stop movie watching and a cozy throw to keep me warm. The weather in New York this past weekend was perfect for Halloween, it was just warm enough that I didn’t have to cover up my costumes with some obnoxious overcoat and cool enough that I wasn’t sweating off my face paint. However, this morning as I threw on my sweatshirt to walk Finn I was confronted with icey cold winds and a temperature about 10 degrees cooler than I expected. So, as depressed as I am to say farewell to Fall, I’m looking forward to cozying up inside with hot tea and fuzzy blankets. Here are some photos that are getting me in that hibernating mood:
