V A R S I T Y
I put this look together in a Monday morning hangover slump after trying on dozens of different, more complex outfits that just weren’t looking or feeling right. While my go-tos in such circumstances are usually my black jeans and my favorite broken in t-shirt (see here), those pieces were both in the laundry and I was forced to get creative.
This jacket is perhaps my best fall purchase so far; I love how it’s kind of like a varsity sports jacket (something I never actually earned seeing as how I was never varsity at anything…or junior varsity for that matter) and at the same time feels like it could have easily come out of Stella McCartney’s f/w collection. It also kind of resembles the Stella McCartney Varsity Sports Jacket which I would kill for…
Stella. McCartney. Perfection.
Anyhoo, you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of this jacket in the next few months and I’m not going to lie, I’m kind of tempted to sew a big varsity S on it. Who says I’m not varsity now!?

Packs A Punch
Every item in this outfit is a favorite in my wardrobe. This blazer is my favorite blazer, the t-shirt is my favorite t-shirt, these pants are my favorite pants…you get the picture. I scored this Boy by Band of Outsiders blazer at the Barney’s Warehouse sale back in August and have been totally obsessed with it ever since. It’s crisp and structured and I love its tuxedo feel. And I think it’s safe to say that I live in these jeans. They’re beyond comfortable and never lose their snug fit, and truth be told, I love them so much that I actually own three pairs of them. Yes, you read correctly…Three.Pairs. I wore this outfit on a cold, gray day in NYC and while I normally like to wear bright colors on such a day I found that the rusty orange on my bracelet packed enough punch of color that I could get away with a look comprised entirely of shadowy hues. I’m not one to repeat outfits, but this is definitely one I plan on repeating (ok, I may have worn it a few times already…guilty as charged).

2010
Before I get back into my blog routine, I would first like to apologize for my month long absence. During the holiday season I tend to forget about everything other than spending time with family and friends and making sure that everything looks wonderful and festive. I hope that you all had a happy holiday season!
I cannot believe that it is 2010. I know I’m the millionth person to say this, but I honestly feel like it wasn’t long ago that I was freaking out about Y2K.
I wonder how they are going to continue making those “2000″ New Years glasses…
I’m really looking forward to this year. I wouldn’t say that the past few years have been all that amazing, but I feel really good things about 2010, and I rarely say things like that.
Thank you to all my readers who stuck with me through 2009, and welcome new readers of 2010!!
HERE WE GO!!!
