When given the opportunity to get dressed up I always take it. If you ask me, people just don’t get dressed up enough anymore. Take the theater for instance; I grew up putting on my prettiest smock dresses and shiniest mary janes to go to a play or the ballet and today it’s as if jeans have become the new three piece suit. B-B-B-Boring!
Last night my Mom and I went to see War Horse in Lincoln Center (best theater I have ever seen in my entire life..epic!) and I didn’t hesitate to grab one of my favorite summery skirts that’s made up of the most luscious silk and billowy chiffon I could just spinny spin spin in it all day. Since the theater isn’t so fancy shmancy I decided to tone down my look with a casual grey sweater and a vintage clutch that’s so beat up it pretty much looks like its been through a war. I guess that’s just the runway hippie in me…heh…heh…
