Golden Globes 2010

January 18, 2010

As a whole, I was not very impressed with the dress choices of this years Golden Globes. That being said, there were a few that stood out to me as favorites.

However, before I reveal my faves, can we just take a second to note that THE HANGOVER won a Golden Globe!!? And that AVATAR beat THE HURTLOCKER!? I’m seriously shocked and embarrassed by the people who voted for those films to win best picture.

Enough bitching…here are my favorite dresses.

January Jones in Lanvin

Dianna Agron

Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana

Cameron Diaz in Alexander McQueen

Style Icon: Giovanna Battaglia

September 29, 2009

Giovanna Battaglia has lived quite the fashionista life. She started off being the in-house model for Dolce & Gabbana and is now the fashion editor of L’Uomo Vogue. While that is all quite impressive, I find her personal style to be that much more impressive and inspirational. At times she may be seen wearing a bright bold color, but she often keeps her palette in the grey and black hues and is almost never seen without a stunning pair of heels on. Her style is not overtly feminine, in fact she wears many pieces that could easily make someone look frumpy, yet she manages to pull together looks that are entirely unique and completely high-fashion chic. What I love most about her is that you often see her wearing an outfit more than once. Her outfit may only be changed slightly by a different choice of shoes or a different blouse, yet this subtle change creates a totally different look. I find this to be quite inspiring because you rarely see that in the fashion industry. It makes her style feel more realistic, because honestly there have been plenty of times that I  have fallen in love with an article of clothing and you better believe I plan on wearing it more than once.

Milan Fashion Week Favorites

September 28, 2009

I picked out a few of my favorite looks from Milan Fashion Week. My absolute favorite is the Prada chandelier skirt. I would have loved to see it twinkle and move down the runway. It is so innovative, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it before.

Spring 2010: DOLCE & GABBANA

September 28, 2009

Dolce & Gabbana was the perfect mix of feminine chic and grunge, combining soft floral patterns with edgier black lace and provocative silhouettes. There is something so wearable about this collection that surprises me because I think that Dolce & Gabbana can sometimes be…a little over the top. I love how sexy even the floral silhouettes are. This may be one of the best collections in Milan Fashion Week.
