Up Goes the Hair

I used to wear my hair up all the time in high school. I had side swept bangs and would throw my hair into a ponytail every morning. Today, it’s an effort to put my hair up when I work out. It’s not that I don’t want to wear my hair up, it’s just that I don’t really know what to do with it now that I’m without bangs (which I have been for awhile so it’s time I locked it up).
I stumbled upon this photo of Emma Stone yesterday (this girl can do no wrong and if I were a lesbian, she would be my lady of choice), and am officially obsessed with her messy up ‘do. From the air dryed texture to the “bang” that really isn’t a bang to the gold accessorie that looks almost like it could just be another strand of hair, this hair style is one that I plan to recreate.
Stay tuned.
The Gown

Just like any other girl/fashion freak, I am truly obsessed with the red carpet. From the age of 2, I have ogled red carpet gowns from old Hollywood films to Academy Award shows, dreaming that one day I would be given the chance to don my own glamorous look on that crimson rug. That day still has yet to come, but I have an entire folder on my computer stocked full of floor-length gowns that I’ve either seen on the runway or on a celebrity.
Last night’s Met Gala was full of beautiful gowns – though I’m pretty disappointed no one stepped out with something big and voluminous like they’ve done in past years – and I have to say my favorite look goes out to Sarah Jessica Parker in Valentino Couture. I think she could have rethought her hair and makeup but I fell in love with that gown on the runway and have been patiently waiting for someone – if not myself when that lucky day comes – to wear it to a major event.
I’ve shared some of my other favorite looks from last night’s Gala on my Facebook page, but here are some standout gowns that will forever remain at the top of my dream dress list.
What are some of your favorite red carpet gowns from the past/present?

Green Gucci Envy

I don’t normally do posts like this, but new year, new ideas, new posts. You feel me?
Anyways, I didn’t watch the People’s Choice Awards last night (I’m not a big TV person) but upon browsing through my usual morning reads I blacked out while falling in love with Emma Stone’s look last night. I’m pretty convinced this girl can do no wrong (I think I went a little lesbian when she wore that peach Calvin Klein gown to last year’s Golden Globes), and this tuxedo inspired ensemble is my epitome of outfit perfection. The cropped green Gucci jacket with the tailored trousers is so waiter-chic I can’t stand it. I just searched the internet in the hopes of finding this jacket but had no luck. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. But actual jacket or not, you can expect to see me replicating this outfit in the very near future.
What do you think of it?
