Casper Pants

March 12, 2012

Back when I first moved to New York and was looking for apartments, I made the mistake of wearing white jeans while on the hunt and wound up coming home with the back half of my pants speckled with gray dirt and dust. Granted it had rained the night before, but still, I was totally grossed out and took a major hiatus from casper pants (not to be mistaken with the casper pale skin I’m currently sporting).

In the past year I have welcomed white jeans back into my life with open legs arms and am happy to say that this featured pair of Rag & Bone leg casings skinnies have only suffered one speckle of grey dirt because of Finn‘s post dog park paws. Thankfully, there’s this amazing potion called bleach that works like a fairy godmother’s magic wand. Zap! Zing! Stain be gone!

*Editors Note: For tougher stains, consult your nearest wizard.

*Another Editors Note: Am I seriously that big of a loser?

*Yes.

Style Icon: Emmanuelle Alt

February 2, 2012

In anticipation of Fashion Week I figured this month’s “Style Icon” should be a front row/street style blog frequent who gives me some serious closet envy, otherwise known as Emmanuelle Alt. Damn can that lady wear a pair of skinny jeans and a blazer like nobodies business; but let’s make it our business right now.

Along with the fact that her style is sleek simplicity at its finest and that Balmain may or may not be made specifically for her, it amazes me that she can essentially throw together the same outfit day-in-and-day-out and still make it look different, interesting, and for lack of a better word, sexy! Ya, I said it, Emmanuelle Alt is sexy.

We all know how much I love a good blazer and pair of sausage casings skinny jeans, and I gotta say it’s refreshing to know that it’s a go-to for someone as impactful in the fashion industry as Emmanuelle Alt. So for all those mornings next week when I throw a fashion fit on “not having anything to wear,” I take comfort in knowing that my daily uniform is totally acceptable for Fashion Week – since the sidewalks are equally as followed as the runways.
