Spring 2010: BURBERRY PRORSUM
Christopher Bailey of Burberry Prorsum was all about tweaking the Burberry classic. Adding knots, twists and ruffles to trenchcoats, dresses, skirts and sweaters, gave this Burberry collection a modern and refreshing look. Keeping within the typical palette of muddy tans and topes, and soft lavender pastels, the collection had a very clean and sophisticated look that one can always assume to find at Burberry. Bailey twisted and pulled his fabrics in all different directions, giving mini skirts and exaggerated shoulders a softer look. The luscious fur coats seemed a bit unnecessary since this is a spring/summer collection, but as a whole I found the clothing to be very complete and well structured. This is by far the best collection of London Fashion Week. By. Far.

Spring 2010: JEREMY SCOTT
Jeremy Scott, known for his wacky, outlandish designs, brought the cast of the Flinstones to the runway this season. Out of all of Jeremy’s collections, this is my least favorite, and probably the least wearable without looking like you’re going to a costume party. However, I will say that fun print mini skirts always jazz up an outfit, so perhaps this collection will work better as separates. I LOVED the shoes with the bones instead of bows, a perfect cave-man meets high fashion touch. What I love about Jeremy Scott is that his designs never follow what the other designers are creating. You can always expect something wildly different, and that doesn’t only include his choice of fabrics each season.

Spring 2010: TWENTY8TWELVE
Savannah and Sienna Miller created a rocker chic look for their Spring 2010 collection. It was quite a throwback to the eighties with denim on denim and mini skirts/hot pants dominating the runway. I thought the overall collection was pretty boring…they’ve definitely produced some better collections in the past. That being said, it is a commercial line, so nothing is going to be that innovative.

Spring 2010: CHRISTOPHER KANE
Picnic table plaid covered Christopher Kane’s runway this season. Apparently inspired by Lolita, Kane’s fabrics itself were sweet and innocent, but his designs were provocative and sexy with deep slits, chiffon and bustier tops. These ultra feminine looks are perfect for spring, both day and night.
