Biking with Topshop

The Crew aka Fash Mob
What’s better than a bunch of b*tches cruising around on bikes in Soho? B*tches dressed in Topshop cruising around on polka dot bikes in Soho (and Astor Place for a hot toddy second).
Over the past few weekends I was put a soul cycling mission to scour the streets of NYC for fashionable ladies worthy of a Topshop gift card, street style snaps, and a style star ribbon from my very own bike basket. With Topshop and a group of pretty pedalers by my side, we created the ultimate Fash Mob that had tourists flocking, dudes drooling, and taxi cabs honking with every ring of our bell. So basically what happens when Justin Bieber comes to town…or Obama, depending on your interests…
I had the pleasure of meeting a few of you while out on my two wheeler bicycle, which is always such a delight — even though I was seriously sweaty (biking around in 90+ degrees? Sorry I’m not sorry).
And while I’m happy to trade in the sweat for a Saturday spent snuggling up to my AC, I’m going to miss hopping on my polka dot speed demon to search the streets for stylish pavement strutters (read: not hookers) amidst the typical white socked, sneaker clad, visor wearing tourists.

Shwing! Check out those style stars!

Cue intense motorcycle “vroom vroom” sounds

What a crew!

Until next time…
Ponchos + Platforms

I talked about them and here they are; the Burberry London platforms I’ve been kicking and screaming over ever since I saw them on Miroslava Duma during Fashion Week, and at a fraction of the price might I add.. I admit their height took a little while to get used to (I might have almost toppled down the stairs while running to catch the subway) but they’re surprisingly comfortable and well, this won’t be the last time you see them. As for the poncho concoction I’m wearing, thanks to yesterday’s warmer temperatures (50° and sunny in January? Ok, NYC, I’ll take it!) I was delighted to leave my coats on their hangers and wear something less bulky but still perfectly cozy. Now the question is, how long will this “heat wave” last?

Eating hair is cool…

SIDEWALK ▲ CAFES

I don’t know why but something about this outfit makes me think of traveling to Europe with friends and eating/drinking at sidewalk cafes. I think it’s because all of the pieces by American Living are versatile and comfortable (crucial when packing) and yet a pop of raspberry red lips, a bright flower and a classic pair of heels make them slightly more sophisticated.
One of my favorite things about traveling with friends is the process of getting ready for a night out on the town. Everyone’s rummaging in each other’s suitcases, the frequent question is “does this look ok?” and by the end of an hour spent getting ready, everyone is wearing each others clothes and usually far dressier than they need to be.
Although I don’t have any travel plans in the near future, I’m definitely making a mental note of this outfit for the next time I jet off to a fun place with friends.
