Don’t get me wrong, I love Freja, Bregje, Hanne and a dozen more but when it comes down to my favorite model Lara Stone easily takes the cake and it seems I’m not alone in my obsession as she was just named model of the year at the British Fashion Awards. While I’ve mentioned my love for a gap-toothed smile before (see here), it’s Lara’s uncommon model figure, sensual eyes and lips, laid back style and sassy attitude that puts her at the very top of my favorite model list.

She’s played the role of muse to Karl Lagerfeld, opened and closed shows for the biggest names in the fashion industry, and has been the face of countless advertisements like Givenchy and Louis Vuitton. And while that may all sound normal for an average sized model with a perfect runway walk, Lara Stone is so far off the typical model spectrum that her place in the fashion industry could easily be paralleled with that of Kate Moss. She’s frequently referred to as “busty”, “curvy”, and “voluptuous” and makes frequent cracks at her inability to walk in heels which obviously poses a bit of a challenge when it comes to walking the catwalk. And yet despite her atypical attributes, Lara has managed to make the fashion industry fall head-over-heels in love with her.
