Tangerine Sharks
So I know you all are used to Friday posts being “A Week in Review,” but I gotta tell ya, I have nothing worth reviewing this week. For the first time in what seems like forever, I pretty much got to go straight home after work every day this week and it felt awesome. So instead of boring you with stories of how I spent one night building two Ikea night stands and another night eating too many martini olives – hold the martini – I thought I’d kick off the long weekend with a colorful outfit post!
Behold the first summer shorts debut on le blog. It’s always a bit daunting the first time you put on a pair of shorts because your legs are nowhere near as tan as you want them to be and you curse all those times you decided to sit on the couch with olives potato chips instead of going on a run. But these Low-Rise Cut Off Shorts in Tangerine by J Brand are too good to leave sitting on the shelf, regardless of the fact that it’s been pouring rain in New York this entire week.

Closet Trends

I’m still unpacking my apartment – I know, shocking – but I technically still don’t have a closet, until tomorrow, that is. As I continue to open up cardboard, unfold and refold, and prepare for my ultimate closet organization, I’ve noticed a few trends/collections in my wardrobe that have been 100% unintentional. It’s strange how I didn’t notice any of this while I was putting everything into boxes, but now as I unpack I’ve kind of taken a moment to appreciate and realize all the goodies I have! And maybe the next time I go lusting after a satchel bag I won’t try to justify it as a necessity in my closet. Just maybe.

A Week in Review
{ Paris day dreaming… }
I’m in love with my new apartment. In love. We’re getting married. I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful it is to wake up in the morning on a cute quiet street and go to bed at night with a view of the Empire State Building. So maybe I’m still living out of boxes, but each day my new place feels more and more like home.
As you can imagine, a significant portion of this week was spent attending to my new place, moving furniture around and making sure everything feels juuust right, kind of like Goldie Locks. This weekend I’m hoping to paint my living room and spend some quality time wandering around my new neighborhood. How many restaurants can I fit in my stomach in one weekend? I’ll let you know come Monday…

Samudra
I have sat on a toadstool for far too long thinking about whether or not I should buy a Samudra clutch. Why? I have no idea. I just never jumped on it. But I finally bit the bullet (a small bullet at that, these babies are $60 each. Not bad if I do say so myself.) and am now back on my toadstool waiting for it to arrive, hopefully in time for my upcoming trip to Miami.
Aren’t they just the perfect pop of color/graphic for a warm summer night? Long white dress, wavy beach hair, sunburn golden tan, Kenny G playing in the background…kidding.
