When I first saw the Isabel Marant Willow High-tops I thought to myself, “really? those?” and wrote myself off from this new wedge high-top sneaker trend. But then they started popping up everywhere I looked – magazines, street style blogs, the subway – and my liking towards them started to grow at warp speed. But $760 on a pair of sneakers that I probably won’t wear for more than a few seasons? Can’t justify it.
But then I saw these Ash sneakys for a third of the price of the Marants and as a result am left pondering whether or not to purchase them. Michael Jordan would probably say yes, but tell me dear readers, should I do it?
Jolly Ranchers On My Feet

What did I tell ya about these shoes? Aren’t they amaaaazing!? They were the first thing I put in my suitcase when I was packing to come to San Francisco; I even considered putting them in my carry-on just in case I lost my luggage.
I wanted to give them a proper debut so I paired them with my all time favorite blazer in the entire universe and beyond (whooaaa what’s out there!?) by Elizabeth and James for an evening at The Nutcracker. I love feeling like I’m walking around on orange jolly rancher heels and if you gave me enough champagne I might even lick them. Just kidding. No seriously! I’m KIDDING! That’s gross.
I have a few more holiday parties to attend before Christmas and have a prettay prettay prettaaay good feeling these candy heels are going to come with me to each and every one of them.

Bisous Bisous

I have an ever growing shoe collection but admit that until recently I stuck to more classic styles for the sake of versatility. As much as I would love to buy every single krazy kool (see how I did that?) shoe in sight, my bank account is not a bottomless pit. Thankfully, my good friend Jordana Silver just launched a new shoe accessory line full of little bisous, otherwise known as shoe clips, that fasten onto pretty much any shoe (or bag or blouse or wherever you want to put them) in your closet.
Each bisous is under $100 and miraculously turns my drabby, beaten up shoes into a sparkling new pair that feel like a million bucks! Plus they make the perfect stocking stuffer. Talk about a win/win! Get yours here.

Steppin’ Out

I’m still knee deep in Fashion Week – I have Frosty the Snowman charcoal eyes, zits on my face, and a whopping five blisters on my feet from all the shoesies I’ve been wearing. All glitz and glamor, right? Not entirely. But I’ve been having an amazing time! I’ve never covered so many shows in a season and I’ve gotten to meet some incredible people – including LARA STONE (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), more details to come later in the week!
I thought I’d give a little tribute to some of the shoes I’ve been busting out all week by featuring them in a post with a link to an outfit of me wearing them. I haven’t worn a lot of these shoes in ages, so it’s nice to have them back in rotation, even if some of them give me blisters so painful I’m taken back to my days as a ballerina in pointe shoes.
Aside from the Barbie tennis shoes I wouldn’t take off as a toddler, I’ve always been much more of a bag and jewelry person than a shoe person. But oh how the times have changed. I’m slowly but surely building my designer shoe collection, and while many of them aren’t featured here, you can bet your bottom dollar that they’re sitting nice and cozy in their shoe boxes just waiting to be worn!
