Tropicana

After posting about the bold floral and tropical trends to expect this spring, I’ve found myself sifting through the web racks for relevant pieces to update my wardrobe. I’ve never been the “tropical vacation” type of girl (I get antsy after sitting on the beach for too long. So sue me!) but that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy a good rainforest hibiscus print! Though Stella McCartney had my back (doesn’t she always?) with her Resort 2011 citrus prints, she’s come back again with more bright tropicali prints for her Resort 2012 collection (which also boasts some serious deck chair wonders) along with other designers and brands (Asos, Topshop, Tory Burch, Hawaiian gift shops).
I just purchased this floral suit from Asos and am getting tingling sensations of joy just from looking at this Mary Katrantzou dress. And since you all know me as being the shop-a-holic type that stops at nothing, I’m obviously going to share all the other floral explosion pieces I’m currently coveting.

- Topshop Hawaiian Floral Bomber – $96
- SUNO Beaded Beach Mini Dress - $660
- Marc by Marc Jacobs Horizon Teal Floral Silk Pants – $430
- Rodarte for Opening Ceremony Floral High Heel Story – $528
- Tory Burch Dalton Printed Blouse – $325
- Asos Fabric Envelope Clutch – $81.81
- Citizens of Humanity Mandy Printed Jeans – $190
- Topshop Floral Lace Pleat Skirt – $76
- Zimmermann Idyllic Taped Shirt – $560

When I first saw the Isabel Marant Willow High-tops I thought to myself, “really? those?” and wrote myself off from this new wedge high-top sneaker trend. But then they started popping up everywhere I looked – magazines, street style blogs, the subway – and my liking towards them started to grow at warp speed. But $760 on a pair of sneakers that I probably won’t wear for more than a few seasons? Can’t justify it.
But then I saw these Ash sneakys for a third of the price of the Marants and as a result am left pondering whether or not to purchase them. Michael Jordan would probably say yes, but tell me dear readers, should I do it?
Mile High Club

You can tell by these pictures that I’m not too thrilled about leaving SF today to go back to NYC, but alas the time has come for me to hop on the plane and head back to the cold east coast weather. My time at home has been quite fulfilling, and I mean that in all aspects; I’ve stayed in bed for the entirety of a day (or days), I’ve seen some of my bestest friends, and eaten so much food that I actually feel disgusting. Woof.
As sad as I am to leave San Francisco, I’m looking forward to getting back into the groove of things and not stuffing my face every time I sit down to a meal. But that’s what the holidays are for, right?
