Beach Time

June 5, 2012

This week my Mom is coming to officially open up our house in Connecticut for the summer, which means that my beach/pool time is about to increase tenfold. And while I sit here cursing that box of crackers I just ate (seriously, it’s beach season – get it together, Sonia!), I also sit her rejoicing in all the goodies that come with a day by the water. Yes, barbecue is the first thing that comes to mind for me, but so do straw hats, colorful beach towels, the smell of sunblock, and most importantly, this awesome shark bag that I’m not sure I can withhold from buying much longer. Sharks are the reason I’m afraid to go in the ocean (and the deep end of the pool), but a plastic shark on land? now that’s a toothy fella’ I can get along with!

Hello, Summer

May 30, 2012

I told you I’d be back in full swing today! And you know who else is back? Chicken bag!

It’s been a scorcher in NYC these past few days and let me tell ya, I am not prepared. I pretty much try to dart between different air conditioned locations throughout the day, but Emily and I braved the sweat and lasted outside for about fifteen minutes before going back to my place to hug my AC unit.

Hello summer! The season of sweat, breezy dresses, and everything iced.

Until tomorrow my sweets!

A Week in Review

May 18, 2012

{ Last weekend in the Hamptons }

It’s finally starting to feel like summer! Instead of jumping from 50° to 80° in a matter of 24 hours, things have been pretty consistent. Me likey. I’ll be spending most of this weekend outdoors at the Googamooga Festival (I have a love/hate relationship with that name), so hopefully I’ll work up a good tan. Are any of you going? If so, make sure to say hello!

As for this week, it totally flew by! I didn’t have a single night or day off and for the first time in awhile I actually enjoyed it! We all know how much I love an evening with my couch, but this week’s evening activities were a perfect combination of work events and fun with friends.

Have a good weekend!
