Cropped and Bare

Let’s keep the whole cropped trend going here, shall we?
First you saw the swan pants and now I share with you the swan cropped top. I have been known to wear them together but it’s so hot outside that the sole thought of wearing pants is frightening. What can I say, I like a breeze on me knees.
The whole “cropped top” trend scared me at first. Bare tummy? Hell no. But then I remembered the delightfully high-waisted pieces that are slowly taking over my wardrobe. You’re telling me that instead of doing the peek-a-boo-look-at-my-belly-button look, I could do the sliver of skin peeking out between my top and skirt? Deal.
This has since been a pretty go-to look for me (I even cut a t-shirt in a moment of frustration because I didn’t have enough crop skin sliver tops), and have to say that extra bit of breeze on the upper midriff is as good as it feels on the knees.

Even the arrow points at my midriff!

Call Me, Maybe

I’m not big into pop music, but there are few songs out there that turn me into the teeny bopping Britney Spears loving fan I never was. Before I even know what’s happening to me I’m belting out all the words to a Miley Cyrus song as if I’m standing front row at her concert, “I ♥ You Miley” sign in hand. But we’re not talking about Miley here (though I still love “Party in the USA”), we’re talking about Carly Rae Jepsen (note: I just had to Google that) and how horribly amazing her song “Call Me, Maybe” is. Song of the summer, right there.
Moving forward…
How rad are these swan pants? I wore this entire outfit them over the weekend and loved them too much to leave them hanging in my closet, so they made a second appearance this week. Though I must say they stretch out rather quickly and I felt like I was wearing pajama bottoms as opposed to the tapered trousers they once were. One good toss in the washing machine and dryer should fix that though.
On another note, apologies for the lack of outfit posts lately, we’ve had insane rain and humidity these past few weeks and you can’t blame a girl for not wanting to go stand outside in the rain and take pictures. More to come though, I promiii! Already coordinating a look called the “wet rat.” Stay toon-towned.
