A Week in Review

April 20, 2012

This week sucked. I felt stressed from the time I woke up in the morning to the time I went to bed, I had a full blown tears meltdown yesterday, I have a zit on my face that warrants it’s own zip code, I burnt the roof of my mouth on quinoa — basically I’m worn down.  So, as you can imagine, a weekend in Miami with two of my best friends for a friend’s wedding is just what the doctor ordered.

Here’s a little look at moments from this week that didn’t suck – a preview of my new favorite jewelry brand: Charming Charlie, playing cat with my friend Sevan, and finding the perfect pair of vintage Gucci sandals to go with the dress I’m wearing tonight.

Have a great weekend and I’ll be back on Monday, hopefully with a sunburn tan!

Accessorize

Last night I had the pleasure of attending a special fashion blogger pre-opening of Accessorize, a popular UK store which just opened up a brand new boutique in NYC’s Union Square. I have been obsessed with Accessorize since my days of studying abroad in Barcelona. As I’ve said before, my travel buddy Alana and I would visit a new city or country every weekend and there had to have been an Accessorize at more than half of the airports we traveled through. Suffice it to say, I built up quite the collection of Accessorize goodies.  So, you can imagine my excitement when I found out that Accessorize was coming to the US. Time to stock up on affordable jewelry and extra cute trinkets and treasures!

At the event, each of us were given $50 to shop with and let me just say that I think I took at least an hour picking out what I wanted to buy. A chunky necklace? A wooden bangle? Some kitschy earrings? The options were endless, but I finally narrowed it down to four items: a silver ring, textured gold bangle, and two hot pink “S” keychains – one for me and one for my friend Sevan. While I love the all the pieces that I got, I imagine that I’ll be back at Accessorize doing some shopping again before I know it.
