Come Sale Away
Fall shopping has always been my favorite, but it also happens to be the most expensive. Leather jackets, sturdy boots and chunky sweaters are, for the most part, much pricier than summer dresses and cut-offs. While I’m still lusting after the items I featured in this post, I can’t help but be tempted by all the amazing sales happening right now. I’m amazed at how many clearance pieces are as functional for fall as they are for spring and summer! SHWING!
Here are some items I’m currently drooling over and most likely adding to my shopping cart before they go bye bye. Isn’t it the best when things you love are on sale!?

..Beckoning Fall..
August is a tough month. People are either away, enjoying their last bits of summer or they’re like me, cursing the continuing humidity and anxiously waiting for that first crimson leaf to emerge. Fall will forever be my favorite season mainly because I’m happiest when I can comfortably layer my clothing and can walk around without breaking a sweat.
There are few things more beautiful than autumn in New York; the streets become quieter, the trees transform into rainbows of oranges, reds, and yellows, people are pleasantly wrapped in light jackets or chunky knits, and there’s an unmatchable crispness in the air. I’ve already begun thinking of different outfits to wear once that first fall day really hits, and these are just a few items I wouldn’t mind adding to my roster.

{ waitress uniform or women’s tuxedo? }
When I was little no one stood a chance at getting me to wear a bow in my hair. In fact, any photos of me wearing a bow were also photos of me throwing major temper tantrums and hissy fits. My room was pink, I danced ballet and loved Barbies more than anything but wearing a bow in my hair was way too girly for my liking.
While I still can’t possibly imagine tying a pretty little bow in my goldie locks, I have grown a liking for clothing, shoes and non-hair accessories with bows. I love the elegance of a pussybow (worst fashion word ever) on a silk shirt or dress, the structure of a bowtie and the femininity a little bow adds to a simple pair of heels. So, in an effort to add more bow focused pieces to my closet, here are some bow-ie looks I’m currently coveting.
- Rag & Bone Jane Ivory Shirt - $142
- Modcloth Mini Gift Ring - $8
- Vineyard Vines Shark Frenzy Bowtie - $36

- Marni Bow Wallet - $263
- French Curve Bow Sock - $12
- DV by Dolce Vita Briar Bow Pump - $89
- Rachel Antonoff x Bass Gamine Gait Flat - $129
- Isaac Mizrahi Black Bow Minaudiere - $808
**I am not wearing a waitress uniform in the first photo but the upper half of a women’s tuxedo, sans jacket.

In keeping with yesterdays post about my love for my new neon pink sweater I thought it only appropriate to highlight some of my favorite neon pieces. I admit that sometimes neon can feel a little too hipster for me but if it’s done right it can look high-fashion and très chic! Take Christopher Kane’s S/S 2011 collection (see here), did you ever think that highlighter yellow could look so editorial and sophisticated?! I certainly didn’t. And the more I think about it the more I realize, who wouldn’t want to walk around looking like they’re wearing glow in the dark clothing day in and day out? Break out those black lights because I’m about to start raving in neon clothes! Ok, maybe not but I do need to add more fluorescent clothing to my wardrobe and the items below are a good place to start:
- Christopher Kane Jessica Pleated Lace Dress - $1,710
- Topshop Candy Skirt - $90
- Modcloth Highlight-her Necklace - $24
- La Mer Collections Soho Wrap Watch - $75
- Kandee Lime Sours - $106
- J.Crew Popover Shirt - $69.50
- Devora Libin Macrame Bracelet - $90
- Equipment Sleeveless Blouse - $188
- Cambridge Satchel Company Bag in Neon Yellow - $139
- Delia*s Ruffle Bandeau Bikini - $50
- Furla Candy Bag - $195
- Rich n Skinny Bikini Crop in Mint - $127
- Zara Neon Canvas Platform - $99.90
- Gianfranco Ferre’ Orange Belt - $290
