Fall is the season where I create my best “runway hippie” outfits. If you’re wondering what on earth that means, allow me to explain. I am as equally drawn to free flowing bohemian apparel as I am to the decadent, high-fashion designs we see on the runway and am thus constantly integrating both styles into my outfits. For example, I am on the hunt for a Penny Lane inspired suede coat with fur trim (mine was stolen about two years ago) and am also coveting everything from the F/W Prada and Stella McCartney runways.

Runway. Hippie. Get it? HAR HAR!

Anyways, as I approach my closet every morning, excited about the fact that I can finally layer my favorite clashing styles, I look to these images for inspiration. Intricate and ornamented Balmain, bohemian Kate Moss, gypsy feathers, armored fingers, oy! I love Fall!

I’ve been channeling the tin man lately, coveting practically every article of clothing that is silver, pewter, or graphite. I love how the metallic shade can immediately make anything look polished (i.e. my iPhone would look a whole lot sleeker in a chrome case), grungy cool (silver foiled skinny jeans? why not!), and/or futuristic (I’ll take pewter colored Dr. Marten’s any day of the week).

My birthday is about two weeks away and I am officially on the hunt for a party outfit. My friends are pushing for a dress, but I’d be just as happy in a tin man inspired head-to-toe metallic ensemble, but maybe that’s just because Halloween is right around the corner…

Either way, I’ll definitely be adding some of these silver pieces to my wardrobe.

August is a tough month. People are either away, enjoying their last bits of summer or they’re like me, cursing the continuing humidity and anxiously waiting for that first crimson leaf to emerge. Fall will forever be my favorite season mainly because I’m happiest when I can comfortably layer my clothing and can walk around without breaking a sweat.

There are few things more beautiful than autumn in New York; the streets become quieter, the trees transform into rainbows of oranges, reds, and yellows, people are pleasantly wrapped in light jackets or chunky knits, and there’s an unmatchable crispness in the air. I’ve already begun thinking of different outfits to wear once that first fall day really hits, and these are just a few items I wouldn’t mind adding to my roster.

  1. Topshop Silky Stripe Tee - $66
  2. Pamela Love Moon Sterling Silver Ring - $425
  3. Grace Choi Fur Collar - $21
  4. Stella McCartney Burgundy Trousers - $330

Oy! What a week! Have you ever had one of those weeks where it feels both extremely long and short? I feel like yesterday was Tuesday, and yet on Tuesday I felt like it should have been Friday…so confusing.

This week was full of meetings and press/showroom events and nerdy tech stuff that makes me think I should have majored in computer science. Although, had I done so I probably would have gone cross-eyed and flunked out of school so it’s probably for the better that I didn’t. Anyways, the highlight of this week was Wednesday night when I got to meet…drum roll *tum ta tum ta tum ta tum*… LIV TYLER! Oh yeah. You read correctly. LIV TYLER as in Empire Records as in Steven Tyler as in…Armageddon…yeah, I went there, go ahead and judge all you want. Judgments aside, she’s incredibly sweet and even more beautiful in person and what can I say, my girl crush for her has sky rocketed! And Thursday was obviously spent indulging in margaritas and excessive amounts of guacamole, so I couldn’t be more ready for the weekend. Now, go out and enjoy this beautiful spring weather!
