Holiday Blowouts
Thanksgiving is practically a week away, I’ve booked my plane ticket back to San Francisco for Christmas, and I’ve got about five parties coming up in the next couple of weeks - suffice it to say, the holiday season is here!
Fa la la la la la la la la!
As with every holiday season (see here and here), I’m on the hunt for a few new festive dresses to make the coming month that much more exciting. While last year my picks were a bit more scattered, this year I’ve narrowed my party dress wishlist down to three categories/trends: bold patterns, updated LBDs, and sequins and embellishments. Now comes the even harder part of narrowing it down to just one or two pieces!
Which ones would you choose? (Keep in mind the Thanksgiving dress always needs a bit of room around the waist…)

Come Sale Away
Fall shopping has always been my favorite, but it also happens to be the most expensive. Leather jackets, sturdy boots and chunky sweaters are, for the most part, much pricier than summer dresses and cut-offs. While I’m still lusting after the items I featured in this post, I can’t help but be tempted by all the amazing sales happening right now. I’m amazed at how many clearance pieces are as functional for fall as they are for spring and summer! SHWING!
Here are some items I’m currently drooling over and most likely adding to my shopping cart before they go bye bye. Isn’t it the best when things you love are on sale!?

Autumn in Spring
I know that spring clothing is supposed to be full of florals and bright colors, but when I sat down to make my first list of spring must-haves I couldn’t help but pick out items made up of deeper, richer colors. What can I say, they’re my favorites! And just like the “no white after labor day” rule went out the window, I say to hell with pastels for spring, bring on those rich, autumnal colors! Thankfully, it seems I’m not alone in this style testament, as many of my favorite stores and brands are currently featuring pieces in those colors that I just can’t bring myself to resist, no matter what the season. Here’s round one of what I’m currently coveting for spring:
- Anarchy Street Crop Knit Sweater - $48
- Topshop Pleated Calf Length Skirt - $80
- Asos Leather Boyfriend Belt - $35.86
- JCrew Broken-in Boyfriend Short - $49.50
- Reed Krakoff Multi Strap Sandle - $650
- Madewell Poet Skirt - $98
- Erin Considine Polemos II Necklace - $282
- Forever 21 Sunglasses - $5.80
- Kate Spade Essex Small Scout - $295
- Topshop Off White Pleat Dress - $95
