Hand(bag) it Over!
Well ‘ello there, Proenza Schouler pre-Spring 2012 handbags!
It’s no news that I’ve got a serious bit of a bag obsession, so I’ve got no shame saying that I’d love to add these two beauties to my collection! Who needs Vitamin C when they’re carrying a neon/citrus PS11 bag! And I may hate snakes more than anything in the world but I sure wouldn’t mind walking around with this PS1 canvas/snakeskin tote.

NYC Chocolate Festival
{ Me at roughly 2 years old hoarding the cupcakes }
As a wee tot I always preferred strawberry or vanilla over chocolate (see above) - something about the richness of chocolate never sat well with my refined two year old taste (kidding). Only in the past year or two have I really started to love chocolate. Milk chocolate. Dark chocolate. Chocolate mousse. You name it, I’m into it.
For my birthday this year, my friend Erin bought me a ticket to the NYC Chocolate Festival. On Saturday afternoon she and I took on the festival head first, hoarding every sample that came our way. Among the dozens upon dozens of chocolate stands, my favorite was easily the six week old bakery, Salt of the Earth. Combining two of my favorite ingredients, salt and chocolate, this baby bakery boasted the best brownies and chocolate chip cookies I’ve ever had. Returning to their stand about three times to get a handful of samplings, I’m definitely going to have to order from their bakery sometime this week.
Here are some shots from the festival this past weekend.

I don’t know about you guys but office supply shopping and organization has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. During the days of back-to-school shopping I used to make my Mom spend hours in Office Depot as I picked out the perfect assortment of pens, pencils, binders, and lord knows what else I deemed vital to my education experience.
While most people have transitioned to using their cellphones for just about anything, I still write everything down, including my schedule. I used to try and cram everything into this tiny Moleskin calendar but then my friend Ally introduced me to Erin Condren; a site devoted to personalized stationary, iPhone cases, calling cards, and my personal favorite, the ultimate planner. Color coated months, at-a-glance weeks, and conveniently placed to-do lists grace these amazing planners which you can customize right down to the very last detail all for just $50. I seriously feel like a dorky 5th grader happily writing down homework assignments all over again.

I’ve frequently said that music influences the way I dress and this outfit is a case in point. I put this look together the other morning while listening to Nick Cave’s album “Tender Pray,” and I’m pretty sure that the song “Watching Alice” and the fact that I just recently re-watched Lolita greatly influenced the way I got dressed. I admit that this is a bit more “school girl” than I normally like to dress (after all, I lived in a uniform for the greater part of my youth) but something about the polished button down and fairisle sweater made it a bit more…mature.
I can’t tell you how happy I am to be wearing cozy sweaters and tights again. Seriously, is there a better season than fall? I think not. Hooray for layering!
